what does "olly olly oxen free" mean?
When you're playing hide n seek and you are it and after a while you can't find anyone, so you give up, you yell out "Olly Olly Oxen Free" and that means everyone can come in free. That is, without the possibility of being tagged before making it to home base free.
So it is kind of like blog readers who hide. Come on and comment without embarassement or consequence. It made sense to me.
So now all you hiding blog readers . . . "Oly Oly Oxen Free"!

BTW, I totally got the Olly Olly Oxen Free...although I never understood what it actually meant when we said it as kids. Maybe some one can do a word study on its origins.
