Rivers of Living Water

This . . .
Exodus says that God visited his people.
He heard their cries and rescued them.
God . . . come and visit us. We need rescuing.
.
That . . .
Psalms something says,
I waited on the Lord and he heard my cry and answered. He pulled me up out of a horrible pit, out of the mire and clay and set my feet high on a rock. And he put a new song in my heart and many saw it, and believed.

This is That . . .
If any man thirsts (that would be me) let him come unto me and drink (actively seek out the weighty things of God, believe them, and receive them) the water I give him will become (it is a process) a spring of water welling up (this is not like filling a glass til it overflows, but having an actual inside Holy Spirit water spring) leading to life eternal (more process) out of your belly shall flow "rivers" (plural) of living water. Salvation is in the river. Healing and restoration are in the river. Forgiveness is in the river. Every good gift from God is in the river. I want to experience that river that is too deep to walk in, but must be experienced without my feet being on the bottom.
I can think of these things, I can even feel that water spring welling up inside my spirit, (just a little bit), but I don't think I have even come close to experiencing that river that flows out, or that is over my head (no wading), but I want to.
.
I've got a river of life, flowing out of me . . . . . .

Evel Knievel

.
This . . .
. . . is a report from "Christianity Today".
.
On Palm Sunday, hundreds responded to Robert "Evel" Knievel's testimony by asking to be baptized on the spot at Crystal Cathedral. Speaking alongside the Rev. Robert H. Schuller, Knievel told the congregation in Orange County, California, how he had refused for 68 years to accept Jesus Christ as Lord. He believed in God, but he couldn't walk away from the gold and the gambling and the booze and the women.
.
That . . .
"I don't know why I fought it so hard," he said. "I just did."
But Knievel knew people were praying for him, including his daughter's church, his ex-wife's church, and the hundreds of people who wrote letters urging him to believe. And then something indescribable happened during Daytona Bike Week this March.
.
"I don't know what in the world happened. I don't know if it was the power of the prayer or God himself, but it just reached out, either while I was driving or walking down the sidewalk or sleeping, and it just—the power of God in Jesus just grabbed me. … All of a sudden, I just believed in Jesus Christ. I did, I believed in him! … I rose up in bed and, I was by myself, and I said, 'Devil, Devil, you bastard you, get away from me. I cast you out of my life.' … I just got on my knees and prayed that God would put his arms around me and never, ever, ever let me go."
.
Pastor Robert A. Schuller, who took over for his father last year, looked out on the church and noticed most people were sobbing. He couldn't simply continue with the service's script and proceed to the offering.
.
"I went up front, and I said, 'I believe there is somebody who needs to be baptized here. Maybe up on that balcony or by that door or by that wall. So come forward,'" Schuller told CT. "We started singing 'Amazing Grace,' and I started baptizing people, baptizing them as fast as I could. I had a little candy dish of water. 'What's your name? Okay, I baptize you in the name of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit'—crying the whole time and going to the next one."
.
Schuller continued this for 30 minutes, not realizing that four other pastors were baptizing the convicted just as quickly. During the second service, the response repeated itself. Together, Schuller estimates, between 500 and 800 people committed or rededicated their lives to God.
.
This is That . . .
The service is one clip, and the babtism service is another clip.
You can view them both here.

And Andy Griffith too? Anybody know anything about Andy accepting Christ?

Incureable "brown spot" disease

.
This . . .
Mom and I were watching the news and there was a story about a drug bust where they confiscated a half billion dollars worth of cocaine.
Mom says, "Who takes all those drugs?"
I said, "I guess a lot of people do, you just never know."
Then mom says, "Well I don't, but I guess I don't know about you."
.
That . . .
I spent the afternoon timing a Jr. High track meet last week. It was the first time I had been out in the sun much, and after a couple of hours, I noticed three or four brown spots on each forearm. I really was kind of concerned. Immediately , I thought I probably had some incureable "brown spots on the forearm disease". Then I licked my finger and rubbed one of the spots and discovered it was just vegetable soup spots leftover from lunch.
The difference between me and a lot of people is, I'm not afraid to share the stupid stuff I do.
.
This is That . . .
Could the Anti-Christ be a woman?
Just wondering.

I'm gonna "Fork It"

This . . .
What's the big idea with little bitty short forks?
I mean who wants to eat with a punk sawed off fork?
And why do you need a salad fork and a dinner fork and a dessert fork?
Don't get me aggitated! Just give me one regular fork and let me eat.
.
That . . .
God plays ten dimensional chess and never makes a wrong move.
He knows the beginning, and He knows the end, and He knows the best way to get from here to there.
.
This is That . . .
I am not sure where I have been, or where I am, or where I am going.
Jeremiah 29:11 says . . .
"For I know the plans I have for you," declares the LORD, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future."
.
Whew!
What a relief to know that Somebody knows what is going on.

Do You Know Him?

.
This . . .
OK enough already.
It's a "Portable Hot Tub". You build a fire under the coils and it heats up and circulates the water somehow. I can't imagine how you get it to where ever you would want it to be and I for sure don't know why you would ever want it to be there.
.
That . . .
The "Portable Hot Tub" can be yours for only $6,000.
.
This is That . . .
.
I saw this on Chris & Yvettes blog and wanted to share it here as well.
I like it.

What Is This?

.
Take a guess at what this is and how much it costs.
.
If you already know, don't say, just respond with I know.
.
If you own one . . . "Oh my freakin blue jeans!"
.
My sister Jeanette thought it might be something you drain your oil in.
At first, Brian was thinking it must have something to do with cranberrys, and then after several good sized hints, he guessed correctly.
.
Two hints. It is bigger than you think and costs more than you think as well.
.
So far, Elliott's guess is the closest. No one has offered a guess of cost.

Lean Towards Africa

.
This . . .
I attended a men's prayer breakfast at The Journey Church in Little Rock Saturday morning. Cory Valentine led the meeting (it was awsome by the way) and then the pastor, Doug Sherman, ended by asking everyone to come to the front and stand close to the marker board. When I looked again, Shane Worbington was standing with his nose plastered to the board. Get it? He was standing close to the marker board in obedience to Doug's request. OK, he was really just acting stupid, but in a good way.
.
That . . .
I was directing a choir at the Church of the Redeemer in Hamburg a couple of years ago, and decided it would be good to have one of the choir memebers bring a devotion, testimony, or a word of some kind to the group each week before rehearsal. And so I remember approaching Janet Mills to ask her if she would be willing to do this the next week.
I said, "Janet, I want to ask you something".
"OK", she replied.
"Would you . . ."
She interuppted me and said, "Yes, I will . . . what is it?"
That was so cool, and a great picture of how our responses to God should be. We should always have a "Yes" response lying in waiting for whatever He would ask us to do. And then, when He asks us to get close to the marker board, we should straight away go plaster our nose to the board.
.
This is That . . .
Arthur Blessitt is the guy who has carried a big wooden cross all over the world sharing the love of Jesus as he goes. I remember an illustration that he used in a message somewhere.
He said, "If God asked me to go to Africa I would immediately say OK and then call to get a plane ticket.
If I couldn't get a plane ticket I would see about a bus or train to the coast where I could hopefully get a boat ride.
If I couldn't get a bus or train ticket I would get in my car and start driving in the direction of Africa.
If I didn't have a car, I would walk to the street and start hitchhiking.
If I couldn't walk I would begin to crawl.
If I couldn't even crawl, I would sit in my chair and just lean for all I was worth towards Africa!"
.
Go, Arthur Blessitt! I pray that that will always be my response to whatever God asks me to do.
